Financial Hardship Requests

NBPA believes no Black parent should be priced out of the organization built to protect their children. If the cost of membership is a genuine barrier for your family right now, we want to help. Send a brief request to membership@joinNBPA.org with three things included: a short description of your situation, how long you expect to need assistance, and what you are hoping to gain from your NBPA membership. We review every request personally and respond within five business days. Hardship memberships are funded through the NBPA Community Fund, supported by fellow members who believe every Black parent deserves a seat at this table. Approved members receive full Community Member access and are never treated differently from any other member.

Sponsor A Parent

If you have the capacity to do more, consider sponsoring another Black parent’s membership. Every dollar contributed to the Community Fund goes directly toward funding hardship memberships for families who apply and qualify. This is Black parents lifting Black parents — one of the most direct things you can do to grow the power of this organization and ensure no family is left out of the fight.

Board Managed Organization

The National Black Parents Association is a Texas nonprofit guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who carry the responsibility of organizational governance on behalf of our community. While members do not hold voting rights, every member is a valued and essential part of our mission to empower Black families to advocate for their children’s education. Together, we are stronger.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Membership in the National Black Parents Association does not create an attorney-client relationship between the member and the NBPA or any attorney affiliated with the organization. Membership fees and donations made to the NBPA do not constitute attorney fees and confer no right to legal representation or legal advice. The NBPA provides legal education, advocacy resources, and general information for informational purposes only. An attorney-client relationship is established only upon execution of a written retainer agreement signed by both the client and the attorney. Nothing on this website or in any NBPA communication should be construed as legal advice.
